5 things to consider before buying a standing desk online

1. Stability

Stability is the single most important factor for a sit to stand desk. A wobbly desk reduces usability and productivity. Key points:

• Net weight: Aim for at least 57kg for a 1200mm model. Specified weights of 50kg or lower often indicate a low-quality product.
• Leg column size: Choose frames with a minimum leg section around 80mm x 50mm. Suppliers that omit leg dimensions may be using inferior frames.

2. Electronics

Reliable electronics enable smooth, repeatable height adjustment. Look for:

• Quality testing: 100% ageing test passed and auto fault detection.
• Protection: Surge immunity and ESD protection.
• Electronics warranty: Prefer models with at least a 5 year warranty specifically covering electronic components.

3. Weight capacity

Weight capacity affects both daily performance and motor lifespan. Many low to mid-range desks rate about 70kg. Choose a model rated to at least 100kg for longer service life.
