5 things you must consider before buying an ergonomic chair

1. Adjustability Seat and arm heights should be adjustable as standard. Adjustable lumbar support, seat angle and seat back height and width deliver personalised comfort and correct posture.
2. Lumbar support Proper lower back support protects the inward curve of the lumbar spine. Choose a chair with height and depth lumbar adjustment so each user can obtain the correct fit.
3. Seat material The seat and back should have sufficient padding for extended sitting. Extra padded and contoured seats increase comfort for long periods.
4. Weight rating Ensure the chair weight rating suits the user. A correct rating preserves smooth rotation, mechanism performance and overall stability.
5. Warranty A minimum 3 year warranty is recommended; 5 to 10 year warranties are preferable to confirm long term durability. Avoid chairs with 1 or 2 year coverage only.
